Senior Software Engineer, AI/ML, LearnX

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day.

• Collaborate with product teams to understand user needs and with AI researchers to leverage and contribute to AI advancements.
• Analyze AI model performance, diagnose loss patterns, and implement innovative AI solutions to enhance educational user journeys.
• Take ownership of AI model quality in STEM and multimodal learning.
• Lead the creation of high-quality, specialized datasets to train and evaluate the models.
• Drive the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and infrastructure to support efficient model training, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
• Mentor other engineers on the team, foster technical growth and share expertise in AI/ML best practices and model development.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience in AI/ML, including experience with building, training, evaluating, or deploying deep learning models.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
